Have you ever just looked at yourself in the mirror and saw another person starring back? A stranger that looks like you but not indefinitely: they wear your shoes and your clothes, they have your hair and especially your eyes. Those eyes stare back at you, look into you and suddenly you realize you are not living, you are just watching a movie of your life through the bathroom mirror. I understandably realize that the movie of my life I was watching was going by too fast. I was not understanding when to stop and where to go, when to go and where to stop; so after watching all this, I knew I needed change in my life. Bayfield High School: located down basic lane and average road. I do not mean to be smothering my old school in bad vibes and crazy conclusions, however at the time that is how I felt. I was truly unhappy where I was -not to mention my life was going through a rough patch and the stress of that school was unfathomable. I was not being completely serious when I asked my mother to enroll me at Animas, I was mostly saying it as a fantasy type of thing. Both of us had the sturdy idea that there was a small possibility of entry and it would be less than 0.000009% chance of me getting in. However, while little ol' me was nonchalantly in Mr. Bach's helath class one day, little did I know my life was soon about to change. I had no idea that I was sitting 19.9 miles awhile from my new school. An artsy school, a cool school. Nice. ~ Why Animas? Animas was a change from my normal daily walk to class. Why Animas? Because I believe art can be just as important as football. Why Animas? I believe that a whole school can feel like one big group of friends not just cliques. Why Animas? Everybody is a glimmering beam of sunshine that shall not be tarnished by the silver spitting hate of rock monsters that live in the real world.
